On The Shoulders of Giants
"Old is defined by young. Young is defined by anyone who doesn't feel that they are." - Anon
On the Shoulders of Giants is a 50-minute devised piece of work that was created by Masters of Arts Practice students Lauren Gemmell and Zoe Rodwell. The content came from interviews and questionnaires from the young and old about their own life experiences and memories.
On the Shoulders of Giants plays with the themes: community, family, human connection and all the little things that often make up an ordinary day.
The 2011 October season of On the Shoulders of Giants showcased the second stage of this shows production development. On the Shoulders of Giants (a work in progress) was performed at the Ponton Theatre, Charles Sturt University Bathurst in July 2011 and received wonderful feedback.
“I really wasn’t expecting On the Shoulders of Giants to be so beautifully emotional and yet restrained. Well done.” – Tracy Sorensen
